Robert Dale Merris' Obituary
Robert "Bob" Dale Merris passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 76 years, 6 months, and 15 days.
Robert was born on May 31, 1945 in St. Louis Missouri to the late Edward Charles Merris and Bess Lee Merris (nee Sheets). Robert was also preceded in death by his sister, Helen "Connie" LaPree and brother, Charles "Ted" Merris.
Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years, Anne E. Merris (nee Eberle); sons: Christopher (Dana) Merris and Craig (Laura) Merris; grandsons: Mason, Bobby, Roman, Baker, Maddoc, and Sawyer; brother-in-law, Eddie LaPree; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Merris.
Bob was also a brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and cherished friend to many.
Bob was a business owner of Allen and Allen Agency. He worked in the die cutting and printing industry for more than 50 years. He enjoyed trips with the family to Table Rock Lake and he shared his love for the outdoors and fishing with the entire family. He dedicated time to the Boy Scouts of America as a Cubmaster and Scoutmaster, St. Blaise Catholic Church CYC youth organization, Marriage Encounter, Teens Encounter Christ and in marriage preparation counseling, he enjoyed serving as a helper at Dougherty Ferry Assisted Living where he lived the last 6 months. He was a huge fan of anything his Grandson's participated in attending and watching Soccer, Baseball, Football, Performances and Sacraments. He was keen to lend a helping hand in anyway he could to those in need.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
