Robert "Bob" "DH" "Coin Shop" E. Brandt's Obituary
We will forever cherish the memory of the one-of-a-kind Robert E. Brandt, known to many as "Bob",
"DH", or "Coin Shop", who passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the age of 70.
Bob was truly a unique character, beloved by all who knew him, especially his cherished cats, Gin
and Tonic (Tonnie). Born on December 15, 1954, in St. Louis, MO, Bob graduated from Hazelwood
Central in 1973 before proudly serving in the U.S. Navy for three years.
After his military service, Bob became a numismatist at Scotsman Coin and Jewelry, where he
dedicated over 40 years of his life. Outside of work, Bob had a passion for golf and cooking. He was also a founding member of a fantasy football league he participated in for more than 30 years.
Anyone who knew Bob could always find him at his favorite bar, Murphy's, sitting at his round high-
top table with a gin and tonic in hand, enjoying a game of Golden Tee or bowling with friends.
Wherever Bob went, he made new friends and shared his love for games, laughter, and good times.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa (Gamma) Brandt; his children, Matthew (Susan) Brandt,
Andrew Brandt, and Katherine (Amador) Riojas; and his adored grandchildren, Zanna Brandt, Nolan
Riojas, and Maisie Riojas. He was a devoted brother to Richard (Daun) Brandt and the late Randy
(Donna) Brandt. He was also a cherished son-in-law to Frank Sr. and Genevieve Gamma and a
loving brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, godfather, and friend to many.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Helen Rosalie Brandt, his brother Randy
Brandt, and his nephew Anthony Gamma.
Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His spirit, humor, and kindness will remain in our
hearts forever.
