Michael Dominic Haas' Obituary
Michael Dominic Haas went to his final place of rest with our Lord Jesus Christ on August 31, 2024, after a two-year battle with bladder cancer.
Michael was born on June 23, 1959, in San Jose, California to the late John Haas and late Diane Lynn Haas. Michael is also preceded in death by his sister, Kelli Haas.
Michael is survived by his wife, Leanne Haas (Missouri); daughter Amy Haas (Washington) and children Nevaeh, Junior, Lyric, Michael, Brooklyn, Eli and Payton; daughter Johna Michelle Romero (Missouri) and her husband Javier and children Juan, Jossalyn and Jaylenn; daughter Dominique Haas (California) and her fiancé Ray Kean and son Giovanni; son Dominic Haas (Germany); granddaughter Teresa Heslop (Kansas) and her husband Michael and children Olivia, Owen and Oaklynn.
Michael was also a beloved stepfather, step-grandfather, and a Christian brother and friend to countless others.
Michael loved and protected his family with great passion. And like all who live, had regrets, but sought true forgiveness. He spent the last 15 years of his life devoted to serving our Lord Jesus Christ. He grew every day into the calling God had for him. Everywhere he went, he shared the testimony of his past, and how God changed him from a broken, sinful man with a broken heart and spirit into a man who was in love with Jesus. He wanted nothing more than to share about his relationship with Jesus, the great Gospel of Christ, and to lead people to the knowledge of the saving grace of God. He ministered to his family, men in prison, people in his church, the homeless and strangers on the street. He would give the shirt from his back, or the shoes from his feet to someone in need. His mom would say he never met a stranger. And he used that boldness to communicate with absolutely anyone about his faith in Jesus. Together with his wife, he started Iron Gate Ministry to help people understand they could be set free from binding chains of addition, and real or imagined walls of prison. He desperately wanted to hear God's promised words of 'Well done, good and faithful servant.' The last leg of his life’s journey provides assurance that he heard just that when he entered the gates of paradise.
Celebration services for Michael will be held at Spring Creek Estates, 7368 W Farm Road 186, Republic, MO 65738, on September 22, 2024 at 3:00 pm. Following the service, the celebration will continue with a procession to a secondary location where there will be many of the foods Michael loved to cook.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that people honor Michael's servant heart, and his passion for giving. Wherever you may be... whatever city or state you reside in, pay a blessing forward to someone in need. Clean someone's house for free. Mow a lawn. Pick up groceries. Make a meal. Offer something to someone in the business you own. Whatever your gifting or calling may be... you will bless Michael's family by blessing someone else. And if you are asked why, simply say, 'the bill has been paid because Jesus loves you'.
As Michael would always say, "Have a blessed day."
