Janet Sue Jones, 74, of Chesterfield, Missouri, formerly of Pinckneyville and Flora, Illinois, passed away at 5:57 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at St. Louis’s Mercy Hospital at the age of 74 years, 4 months, and 24 days. J Read Obituary
Dear Tammy and all of Janet's Family,
I was so glad to have gotten to know your Mom at Garden View Care Center. She loved to sing, and I could always count on her during my shows to sing along. Her signature song was "Puff the Magic Dragon". She knew every word. One day, when I was at Garden View visiting my mom and could not find her, she asked me, "Did you find the small one?" Eventually, I found my Mom. I was glad I gave her a big hug at the end of my show on 8/22/25. I told her I loved her and she told me she loved me. My Momma loved her, too. I know that they are both kicking it up in heaven right now. Free of all the issues of the mind and the physical body. I will miss her singing and her remarkable presence.

Mary, and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember playing games like Upwards, Boggle, Yahtzee, with you and your mom at the kitchen table with a big bowl of homemade popcorn slathered in real butter (this is still my favorite way to eat popcorn). Such fond memories with y’all. Take care.
Janet was a very precious woman. She was my friend, a Bible study sister and seemed she always had a smile on her face. She was kind and loyal and compassionate. I am thankful our lives cross paths and she will be missed but she is well and happy with seeing her Lord. Family be proud and have peace.
