James A. Meyer Sr.'s Obituary
James A. Meyer, Sr. passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Cedarhurst Senior Living in St. Charles, Missouri at the age of 79.
James was born on June 1, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Frank J. Meyer and Alma Meyer (nee Ponder). James was also preceded in death by his son, James “Jim” Meyer, Jr.; granddaughter, Laci Meyer; and siblings: Francis and Elaine.
James is survived by his children: Scott (Holly) Meyer, Patrick Meyer, and Shannon Meyer; grandchildren: Olivia Meyer, Patrick (Emily) Meyer, Preston Meyer, Scotty Meyer, and Jackson Meyer; great-grandchildren: Wesley Mave, and Gwen.
He was also a loving brother to: Louise Taylor, Leo Meyer, and Christine (Jim) Hastings; and a beloved friend to many.
Jim was a man who lived life with passion and purpose, finding joy in the simple pleasures and sharing them with the people he loved most. An avid fisherman, he spent countless days on the water with his children, grandchildren, and close friends, creating cherished memories with every cast. Jim had a deep love for cars, especially his prized GTO, and took pride in teaching his sons the ins and outs of engines and repairs. His home was always filled with music, a constant soundtrack to a life well lived. A true movie fanatic, Jim’s impressive collection of DVDs, booming home theater system, and giant screens turned every movie night into an experience. He was also a talented painter whose steady hand and eye for detail served him well both in his hobbies and his career, where he successfully managed large
projects with dedication and skill. Jim’s warmth, humor, and passion for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life, by invitation only, will be held on September 6th, 2025 at Trigg Banquet Center, 300 O'Fallon Plaza, O'Fallon, Missouri 63366.
