Sending thoughts of comfort. Thanks so much for the wonderful memory pictures. Don would have loved them.
I am so very sorry for your loss.
Mr. Deischer was a kind man. I will always remember the time he spent in my classroom at Hawthorn. He always had a hug for me. He is missed.
oh Katie~ I can still hear his laugh right now.....💚
he was one of the kindest, most genuine people I've ever met.
I think I can speak for my entire family in saying we felt safe as our parents aged (in their original home on DeSmet) on the days we couldn't be there, because you and Don were 2 doors away and always checking on them....and Don could fix any car, anywhere, anytime! 🥰
you are both unsung heroes. Love, prayers and hugs
We spent many hours together over 50 years and countless times for a catfish lunch at Hatfields & McCoys. We laughed and had wonderful times together. I will miss Don in countless ways. He was one of the finest men I have ever known. What the world has lost, Heaven has gained.
This is my favorite photo of the family, as Don was the photographer trying to get the perfect family photo. Kids nor Adults could sit still long enough to get the perfect photo for Don. After at least 6-8 tries, I have all the photos to prove it, Don sat down with all of us and said, "I give up!" Well, someone went and set the self-timer on the camera, then a lot of get ready, everybody smile and look at the camera. And...
SNAP!
Wala! Amid the Happy Chaos, The Perfect Photo!
We were just waiting for Don to get in the picture with us! That day almost the entire family was there.
I believe this was in 1992 or '93.

Growing up I have so many great memories of Uncle Don from when I was the flower girl in their wedding and told everyone that I was marrying Uncle Don to when he taught me how to drive a stick shift. He took me to a cemetery and said it was the safest place to learn cause I couldn't hurt anyone lol. He was a patient, loving, caring man and I will miss him dearly.
Love Tammy ❤️
Uncle Don and Aunt Katie were so happy to be Kents God Parents. This was taken in 1976.
A wonderful memory for our whole family, Uncle Don was so proud of Kent. Aunt Katie too,
Thank you Daddy for being everything a Daddy should be and more. From making me a ballet bar, to driving me to the bus stop when it was cold, to saving me everytime something broke or went wrong. What you have done as a PaPa will top the charts. From building a play yard for babies, to glueing taps on Mollys shoes, or building train tables for Dan. Nothing will ever be as wonderful in this world without you to share it with.
Love,
Puddin
