It's been a year! I'm not sure how I survived this. I have many mixed emotions but I think I'm in a good place now. I hope you are safe and free. You are missed but not forgotten ❤️

I used to work with Darryl at a grocery store back in Greenville. I had no idea he was still in the area. We used to go to lunch and run around after work sometimes. He brought out the kid in me. We always had such a fun time. He never failed to made me laugh! I would loved to have known how happy he must have been. See you in Heaven Dear Friend, Lora
Darryl wasn't just a neighbor to us; he was a friend. He was so friendly and open, and as someone mentioned, he didn't seem to judge, but just took you for who you were. He was also so sweet and thoughtful. If John or I ran into him in the neighborhood or at Whole Foods, our day was brighter. When we didn't see him in person for a length of time, Darryl would text to ask how we were doing, and also texted to invite us to celebrate anything that was going on; he and Kevin were the reason a lot of neighbors knew each other, and their house was the epicenter of get-togethers in the neighborhood.
We will miss him, but are grateful we knew him; Thank you, Kevin! :) We've raised a glass to him, but after reading the Tribute Wall, we're planning to do it properly, with Dirty Vodka Martinis in hand. He was just such a neat guy.
Our heartfelt condolences to Kevin, and to Darryl's daughters.
Sincerely,
Linda and John McFarlane
Darryl was a very nice, funny man. He was always giving me crap, but was never mean . He was a very good cook and very funny. He will be missed by all who knew him. RIP , Elaine Buchheit & Steve Beatty
Darryl was my best friend and my husband. We had been together going on 15 years and married 4. He was the life of any gathering with his jokes although usually inappropriate. He was an excellent cook and made all our meals and did all the shopping. He always had time for a nap even if he had just woke up. He had a work ethic like no one I've ever met. He had more friends than I could keep up with. I am completely devastated by his passing but feel grateful he chose me to walk by his side. I will miss him every minute of every day. Until we meet again I will continue to love him with everything I am. Fly free my darling, I love you 🙏🏼❤️😇
