She leaves behind her children: Jason Alexander of Atlanta, GA, Crystal Mueller of St. Louis, MO, Brian (Katie) Mueller of Jefferson City, MO and by extension Gerri (Tony) Jones of St Louis, MO; stepchildren: Eric "Toby" (Alicia) Seidler, Grace (Eric) Smith, and Dan Seidler, all from St. Louis, MO; grandchildren: Justin, Jacob, Jillian, Avery, Chase, Bryce, Kellen, Chrisshonda, Anthony, Antonio, Jordan, and Destiny; step grandchildren: Jack, Ruby and Colt; great grandchildren: Mason, Philip, Heather, Reesie, Taylor, Kyla, and Willie.
Sharon radiated the joy of Christ in all circumstances. Her smile would light up any room including a hospital room or doctor's office. Her laughter was contagious. The love for God, her family and friends was immeasurable. She was proud of all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, whether biological or otherwise.
Sharon had a passion for God and would watch Jimmy Swaggert services on her TV as well as on her cell phone. She was pretty tech savvy for her age. Her son Brian walked her through how to change the power supply in her home computer over the phone during the Covid-19 lockdown! She had games she liked to play on her cell phone as well, including Spider Solitaire. Her son Jason would message her and send her music videos from way back, bringing her memories of joy from a time earlier in life. She loved being "Queen Sharon" of her chapter in the Red Hat Society, the Sassy Sisters. Through the Red Hat gatherings, she shared her joy with so many women and young ladies. The regular attire is purple clothing and a red hat for those 50 . The colors are lavender and pink for the younger ladies. Little did she know this would be a routine way for her and her daughter Crystal to spend quality time together. She also liked to be dolled up with sparkles and jewelry. Could never have too much, especially for the Sassy Sisters!
Throughout Sharon's life she enjoyed a wide variety of activities including the following. She had great grades and attendance in school, she was an excellent speller at a young age, and she welcomed spending time with family and friends. Sharon liked to play board games, card games, jacks and even went square-dancing for a while. She helped with church events and she taught Sunday School. She celebrated birthdays and holidays, she would even have extra gifts at Christmas time in case there were unexpected guests. She wanted to ensure everyone received a gift, no one left empty handed. She lived, "It is better to give than to receive."
Sharon loved to travel and see different parts of the world. She had visited several states including Hawaii. Her and Ken went to Sedona, AZ a few times. They enjoyed the beauty of God's creation there. She went on a few cruises and even lived in Germany when she was younger. Sharon was no stranger to a road trip, especially going back to Arkansas to visit family. She knew how to pack the best snacks and play fun road trip games. Laughter was definitely in tow. At St. Louis Hills, her assisted living center, she would be the source of conversation, laughter, joy, singing and great fashion! You could hear her sweet voice during the church services held there from time to time. Sometimes the residents would even join in singing in the dining room with her. The main song sang at the end of the meals was the chorus to "Is That All There Is?" by Peggy Lee. Sometimes staff would even join in. She shared her joy with all those around.
Sharon had a love for certain kinds of food including fried chicken. She couldn't pass up ice cream, especially butter pecan, even if she was already full. She would say, "There's always room for ice cream!" Her humble and poor upbringing caused her to be happy even with little. So to go eat endless shrimp at Red Lobster was a treat indeed! Sharon would make the best snicker doodle cookies, she would always share her secret with anyone who asked, she put cream of tartar in the mix. At Christmas time, she made so many batches that she would hide containers of those cookies throughout the kitchen. She wanted to make sure there would be enough left for Christmas Day. Speaking of Christmas, she loved to listen to Bing Crosby's Christmas music. Most recently, one of her favorite Christmas songs was Little Drummer Boy by For King & Country.
It didn't take much for Sharon to be happy. If everyone in the house was fed and doing well then she was too. She rarely complained unless it was truly warranted. Sharon knew God would provide all she would need in every situation. She would tell of the goodness of God in any setting with anyone who would listen. Sharon was a walking and talking testimony to how God worked miracles in her life over and over. As ripples of water seem to continually flow so will her love for Jesus through the many people's lives she touched throughout her life. The next time you wear red or purple or eat an Almond Joy (her favorite candy) remember Sharon's beautiful smile and know wherever you find yourself in life, God is faithful and He's able to make a way.
