Robert Germain's Obituary
Robert "Bob" Germain passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at BJC's Evelyn's House in St. Louis County, Missouri at the age of 71 years, 1 month, and 4 days.
Bob was born on August 9, 1952 in New York, New York to the late Norman Germain and Gertrude Germain (nee Kramer). Robert is also preceded in death by his loving husband of 32 years, Bruce Glatter; and daughter, Kate Kromann.
Robert is survived by brother, Andrew (Nancy) Germain; his grandchildren: Ellie and Sam Kromann; parents to his grandchildren: Ryan and Jennifer Kromann; nieces and nephews Kristy (Pete) Gallup, Hayley Glatter, James Glatter, Aliza Glatter, Steven Glatter, and Aaron Glatter.
Bob received his bachelor's degree in psychology from The State University of New York at Buffalo, and then his doctorate in School Psychology at the University of Texas-Austin. His lifelong love of travel included spending a year of his undergraduate education in Europe, with time in Copenhagen and Grenoble.
Bob began his career at the University of Missouri-Columbia followed by the University of Rhode Island. His subsequent work included mediation between school boards and teachers' unions, psychological service in the Ohio prison system, and private counseling.
A joint memorial service for Bob and his husband Bruce will be held at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2023 in the Colonnade Room at The Gatesworth, One McKnight Place, St. Louis, Missouri 63124.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider making a donation in Bob's name to the St. Louis Food Bank.
Bob, along with his husband Bruce, will be buried together in the Garden of Renewal at Hughes Funeral Alternatives at Hillcrest Abbey in St. Louis, Missouri.
