Richard H. Combs' Obituary
Richard Harris Combs Jr. (RC), 70, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at his home in Raytown, MO, surrounded by his family. Richard was born on October 14, 1951 in Independence, MO to Richard & Althea Combs. He was the second son of three boys and was very devoted to his family and keeping the family history alive through the next generation.
Richard married Ann Combs August 15, 1981 in Kansas City, MO. They had three children. Together, they owned and operated RC Entertainment, since 1979. RC provided a Las Vegas-style show for Wedding Receptions, Mitzvahs, Corporate Events, Birthdays and School Events. RC (Richard Combs) was the premier entertainer for the events of the Who's-Who of Kansas City, Tulsa, St. Louis, Chicago and Omaha. He also provided entertainment for many street festivals in small towns like La Cyne and Frontenac, KS. He also was a skilled electrician and owned RH Combs Electric. At one time, he even attended auctioneer school.
In 2015, Richard earned his degree in Psychology from UCM, which he intended to use to help families of children with special needs. Unfortunately, he received his cancer diagnosis shortly after graduation, which stopped his world from turning. In April 2017, he received news that his cancer was Stage 4 and the battle intensified. He fought a long, courageous battle and kept a positive outlook the entire time.
His high energy, positive attitude and amazing sense of humor will be some of his most remembered traits. He enjoyed his family and grandkids, art (painting, sculpture, photography), fishing, boating, karaoke, animals, trains. He loved his relationship with Christ and maintaining that relationship was very important to him. He was very generous, always willing to help others if he could.
Richard is survived by his wife, Ann Combs, children: Christy (John) Hall, Missouri; Catie Combs (Dale Morgan), Missouri; and Sean Combs, Colorado. Four Grandchildren: Adalynn, Emmitt, Roman and Lincoln Hall, Missouri; Brother, Tom (Deborah) Combs, Florida; SIL Mary Coleman, Missouri; Nieces and Nephews: Zach Coleman, Missouri; Marielle (Mark) Talley, Nebraska; Mindy (Andrew) Johnson, Indiana; Jeremy (Amanda) Combs, Arkansas; Jenn (Zach) Burke, Missouri; Jennifer (Jim) Elder, North Carolina; Tommy Combs, Illinois; Tim Combs, Florida. Great Nephew: Jace Combs, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Althea & Richard Combs Sr; brother: Gary Combs; BIL- Chuck Elliott, Ron Coleman; Grandparents: Lillian Combs and Grandma Kopp; Robert Pryor and Loula Long Combs.
A Celebration of will be held at the Rice-Tremonti Farm Home, 8801 East 66th Street, Raytown, Missouri 64133, on Sunday, July 10, 2022, from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m.
