Patricia Sue Danzer's Obituary
Patricia Sue Danzer passed away peacefully around noon on December 7, 2024.
Patricia was born in Hamburg, Illinois, on September 24, 1931, the first child of Louis Henry and Marjorie Lucille (Bowman) DeLong. She attended both Washington University in St. Louis, where she joined the Alpha Xi Delta sorority, and Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. She was a teacher for many years, most of them in the Riverview Gardens School District. Patricia joined the American Youth Hostel at a young age and made lifelong friends there. She traveled to Europe twice in the late 1950s and early 1960s and saw such sights as Stonehenge and Lenin in his tomb. Although she was inspired by her friends’ tales of bicycling through Europe, she admitted she and the bicycle spent most of their time on the train. In her later years, she was able to sail through the Panama Canal, to see Tunis and Ephesus, and to travel through China. She was also able to experience a helicopter flight over Kilauea and another over the Grand Canyon, which she loved.
Patricia is survived by her husband of fifteen years, Ron Danzer; children Martha (Todd) Kneib and Brian (Heather Clark) Pigg; four stepchildren, and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at Aberdeen Heights, 505 Couch Avenue, Kirkwood, Missouri 63122. Light refreshments will be served.
Arrangements by Hughes Funeral & Aquamation Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Family and friends can sign an online guestbook at www.HughesFuneralAlternatives.com
