I have the fondest memories of Norm coming into our lives when Ann began dating him in high school. He was handsome, fun and talented, wise and practical. He had a great voice and I remember watching him in a CYO production of Oklahoma. As I was looking on from the balcony, I couldn’t take my eyes off him and thought he was the STAR!!! (although he was really only in the chorus LOL!).
When Mom died, Dad, and all we Nester kids experienced such a loss. Ann, Norm and baby Christopher came to live with us and as we moved through the days, picking up the pieces of our lives, Norm kept us upbeat, laughing, living and loving. Norm was such a strength for us then and throughout our lives together.
As I write this, I am reminded of not only the deep loses our family has experienced – the loss of Mom, Dad, Laura, Charles and Ann -- but also the extraordinary love and support that brings us together through these times. Norm played a very special part in our family all these years – and yes, you bet, I will call him a STAR!!!
