Melody Ann Faser's Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved partner, mother, aunt, sister, and friend, Melody Ann Faser. She passed away at the age of 74 on December 12, 2022 at her home in Creve Coeur, Missouri.
Melody was born February 11, 1948 in Dwight, Illinois to Mildred and Paul Kruse. She grew up on her parent's farm with her sister, LaJoy Hansvick, and brother, Keith Kruse. After graduating as valedictorian of her high school class in 1966, she went on to study elementary education at Northern Illinois University, eventually earning her master's degree in special education. She was a dedicated teacher, teaching in St. Louis public schools, and touched many students' and parents' lives throughout her career.
Melody lived in Georgia, Ohio, and Chicago before settling in St. Louis, where she raised her two beloved sons, PJ and Josh. In addition to her two sons, Melody relished her relationships with her niece, Penelope Swanson, grand-nieces, Sonja and Elsa Swanson, and grandson, Owen Gray. In her free time, Melody loved to spend time with her partner of 19 years, Michael Coleman, especially enjoying a night out together with a good meal. Mel cherished her time with her close friends hanging out by the pool, traveling, shopping, and going on adventures. She will be remembered for her fun-loving spirit and generous heart.
Melody is preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Paul Kruse, her brother, Keith, and her husband, Paul Faser. She is survived by her partner Michael Coleman, her sons Paul James Gray (Shoshana), and Josh Keith Gray (Jen and Owen), sister LaJoy Hansvick (John), and niece Penelope Swanson (Craig, Sonja, and Elsa).
There will be a Celebration of Life held the afternoon of January 15, 2023 in Creve Coeur, Missouri.
