Leslie Rachel Proud

Leslie Rachel Proud, 42, of Saint Louis, MO, passed away peacefully at her home on November 8, 2022 at 4:02pm. Leslie was born in Minneapolis, MN on November 15, 1979 to Danny and Robin (Rogg) Proud. Her parents survive her. Her brother, Martin (Katie Holmes), also survives her. Growing up in Minneapolis, Leslie did tap, ballet and jazz dance. She was also a Girl Scout. Leslie graduated from North High School where she was on the tennis, badminton, and cross-country skiing teams, as well as in the marching band. Throughout her young life, she accumulated a group of friends around her. They worked at Dayton's department store and as ticket takers for the Minnesota Twins. Leslie graduated Truman State University in Kirksville, MO in 2002. She was a member of the Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity of which she was an active member in her 20's. Leslie worked for World Market, World Wide Technology, Swan Corporation, and Maritz. In her free time, Leslie was a tour guide for Landmarks Association Walking Tours. She gave tours of downtown Saint Louis of which she loved doing. Leslie enjoyed all things random. She loved art, architecture, geography, bridges, mosaics, and art deco. She loved music with a happy, peppy rhythm; anything you could dance around to. She liked to search for murals in different cities. She liked taking photographs from different angles to make it look like she was eating or attacking something. Leslie loved to eat food and try different foods. One time she tried dried squid, she didn't like it, but it was different and so weird! She loved sushi and pretty much anything with noodles. Leslie loved babies, especially chunky babies. Leslie was always up for a party or exploring a new place. She loved weather, especially extreme weather (People of Yakutsk: your weather amazed Leslie and was monitored consistently.) Leslie also loved a good road trip. She had traveled to many of the states in the nation, but not all of them. I believe her favorite road trip was the Phi Sigma Pi road trip to the national convention in Pennsylvania. Many stops were made, as well as many memories. Leslie loved playing games and cards. Most problems were solved over a game of one kind or another. She will be forever missed by her family and friends. Memorial donations can be made in Leslie's name to two places.
