Laci Ann Meyer's Obituary
Laci Ann Meyer passed away on Saturday, April 9th, 2022 at the age of 28 years.
Laci was born on February 19, 1994 in St. Louis, Missouri to James Meyer, Jr. of Villa Ridge, Missouri and Bonnie Cannon (nee Keddy) of Desoto, Missouri. Laci was much more than a daughter, Sister and a friend; she was a beacon of light to all that had the pleasure of knowing her.
Laci graduated from Pacific High School in 2012. There, she enjoyed being a library aid and was involved in cheerleading, Model UN, Beta Club, and Student Council. She was a friend to everyone and was voted Prom Queen her Senior Year. After high school, she attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and Literature in 2016. Laci took a leap of faith in 2019 and joined the team at Square. She wasn't there long, but she loved her time with the company and was cherished by her coworkers.
Laci's energy was contagious, and her personality was magnetic. She drew you in and made you feel important, cared for, and known. Laci was deeply involved in the lives of the many people whom she loved. Whether it was planning a "witchy" destination bachelorette party, or showing up to your house with $200 of groceries to cook you a 4 course meal, she always had a way of making every friend and family member feel special. Laci was truly original.
Laci's favorite holiday was Halloween, naturally, and she loved nothing more than celebrating with others. Year after year, she prepared the best Halloween spread in the neighborhood, which included, but was not limited to: every kind of candy, a variety of soda, an assortment of chips, take-home decorations, and alternatives for all types of allergies and food sensitivities.
She never ceased to spread inclusivity, thoughtfulness, and intentionality amongst friends and family, as well as people she had only just met.
On any given weeknight you could find Laci playing board games with friends, catching a movie at the Tivoli, or watching a show with the Sleepy Soul boys. She was quite the cinephile and music aficionado. She always knew the perfect soundtrack to every night, and she single handedly kept TouchTunes in business. Whether it was a road trip, a night out, or a calm night in, Laci kept the energy alive and well with her playlists. Apart from music, Laci was an avid reader, podcast listener, and historian at heart. She could tell you more about the founding fathers than Thomas Jefferson himself.
Laci loved her family and friends fiercely. Tragically, her time with loved ones was cut short. Laci was a cheerleader and a rock for many and her death leaves a huge hole in our hearts.
Laci is survived by her sister, Olivia Meyer of Villa Ridge, Missouri; grandparents: Barbara Meyer (nee Glazik) of Villa Ridge, Missouri and James Meyer, Sr. of Florissant, Missouri.
She is also survived by her loving partner of 4 years, Nick Hummel.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Pacific Eagles Aerie #3842, 707 W. Congress Street, Pacific, Missouri 63069 on Saturday, April 30, 2022, 4-8 p.m.
