Joan Schaper's Obituary
Joan "Joanie" Lee Schaper passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center at the age of 78 years, 10 months, and 1 day.
Joan was born on January 7, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late St. Louis coffee legend Joe Charleville and Mary Charleville. Also preceding in death is her husband, Ed Schaper; and brother, Dave Charleville.
Joanie is survived by her son, Brian (Jessica) Schaper; grandson, Joey Schaper; brother, Tom Charlieville; and sister-in-laws: Sue Chareville and Bonnie Charleville.
Joan is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Madison Charleville, Dave Charleville, Mike Charleville, Cynthia Charleville, and Tina Bade; and a host of friends.
Joanie graduated from Ladue High School. She spent her childhood at Valley Mount Ranch with horses and her beloved animals. She also loved the outdoors, camping, spending time at Lake of the Ozarks, her puppies, and gardening.
As a 20 year survivor of cancer, she was a very strong and independent person. But she was very kind to everyone that was fortunate enough to know and love her.
Celebration of life service will be held on Friday, November 15, 2022, 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Life Apartments, 7655 Watson Road, St. Louis, Missouri 63119.
Family and friends are invited to come share fond memories and stories. Please dress in a spirit of celebration of life!
