Gary Eugene Huff's Obituary
Gary Eugene Huff, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 75 years, 2 months, and 25 days.
Gary was born on August 7, 1949 in Dodge City, Kansas to the late Eugene C. Huff and Letty Huff (nee Ely).
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Velva Lynn Huff (nee Davidson); children: Lori (Mike) Means, Steve (Kari) Huff, and Cory (Megan) Huff; grandchildren: Chris (Cynthia) Means, Jordan Means, Cody (Shelby) Means, Devon Huff, Kalie (Jacob) Horn, Logan Huff and Kierstyn Huff; and great-grandchildren: Elijiah, Wesson, Knoxx, Haddleigh, Colt, and Daxton.
Gary is also survived by his sisters: Nancy (Mick) VanDegrift and Janet (Rick) Ives; numerous nieces and nephews, and a whole host of friends.
Gary loved farming and hunting. He was an avid clay and trap shooter. He enjoyed fishing, dirt track racing, singing, and being a member of South Gate Baptist Church in Springfield. His biggest passion, however, was spending time with his family, especially supporting his grandchildren’s extracurricular activities.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at South Gate Baptist Church, 5701 South Farm Road 157, Springfield, Missouri 65810. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
