Ernestine Carr Kirk's Obituary
Ernestine Carr Kirk passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 96 years and 4 months.
Ernestine was born on October 21, 1927 in Okemah, Oklahoma to the late Ernest Carr and Lillia Carr (nee Rogers). She is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Paul J. Kirk, Jr. and a son-in-law, Richard Baca.
Ernestine is survived by her daughters: Ruth (Tom Tyler) Kirk-Tyler and Jean Kirk; grandchildren: Jennifer (Josh) Kratochvil, Allison (Chris) Pappas, and Michael (Misty) McNeely; and 7 great-children.
She was also a beloved friend to many.
Ernestine was a longtime faithful member of Second Presbyterian Church in St. Louis, Missouri. She also had her Master's Degree in Music Education. Ernestine was a music teacher for various school districts for more than 40 years. She would go on to retire as a Music Professor at Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri.
A roadside service will be held at 10:15 am on Monday, March 25, 2024 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Road, St. Louis, Missouri 63125. Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery office by 10:00 a.m..
