Daniel Eads' Obituary
Daniel Dayne Eads, 56, of Ballwin, MO died Sunday, June 26, 2022 at home after a long battle with cancer; he was born April 12, 1966, in St. Louis, MO.
Dan was husband of Lesley Eads and devoted father of Caitlin Eads, Justin Eads and Kristen Eads. He was the son of the late Clifton Dayne and the late Adele Ann Eads, brother of the late Theresa Weston, the late Kevin (Jean) Eads and Bruce (Heather) Eads, cherished uncle of Rob'n (Ron) Stanley, Ramy (Nikki) Weston, T.J. Weston, Henry Eads and Anna Rawlings, great uncle of Emma Weston, Christina Stanley, Ellie Weston and Tate Weston. He will be missed by many loving relatives, friends and
students.
Daniel attended Westminster College in Fulton, MO, graduating in 1988 with a BA in English Education. Married on September 30, 1989, Dan and Lesley lived in Morton, IL where Dan worked with the Deaf community and as a sign language interpreter. It was here that Dan learned of a program at Illinois State University to educate teachers to work with visually impaired children; he graduated from ISU in 1995 with his master's degree.
Throughout the years Dan worked with children with visual and hearing impairments. However, for the majority of his professional career, he was an itinerant teacher for the visually impaired. Dan's greatest wish was that his body be utilized in any way possible, whether that be transplant, education or research. His final gift was the donation of his eyes to Saving Sight non-profit organization involved in research and helping restore patients' sight.
Dan was a devoted father to his 3 children. Throughout the years he carried the titles of Boy Scout leader, baseball and softball coach, volleyball coach, VBS teacher and many others, as it gave him more time with his kids. His most cherished memory was a hiking trip to Philmont, NM with Justin and troop. His summers were spent with family at the pool, zoo, ball fields and teaching summer school.
A memorial service will be held at Glendale Lutheran Church, 1365 North Sappington Road, Glendale, Missouri 63122, on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11:00 am followed by a reception and visitation with family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that donations be made in Dan's memory to Siteman Cancer Center or the Colorectal Cancer Alliance.
