Charles David Zimmer's Obituary
Charles David Zimmer Jr. "Chuck" beloved husband, father, grandpa, and great grandpa passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at the age of 78.
Chuck was born on June 12, 1944 to Charles Sr. and Katherine Zimmer in St. Louis, MO.
He was active at Cleveland High School by participating in football, track, choir, Student Council and was voted Biggest Tease and Prom King before graduating in 1963.
In 1963 he met Cheryle (Kutilek) and after three years of dating they wed on April 2, 1966. The two of them had two children. Deanna (Steve) Schira and Scott Zimmer.
Chuck's greatest joy were his grandchildren. His "Sweetie Pie" Brianna (Bryan) Zimmer-Daniel, Alex and Nick Schira, and his great grandson Ethan Daniel.
Chuck loved making people laugh. He always had a dad joke at the ready or a witty comeback. He played softball, loved to sing karaoke, coached his kids' sports and then cheered from the sidelines watching his grandkids activities. He loved Disney World trips with his family and groaned when the grandkids made him ride "A Small World". It became a joke between them whenever they would get him on the ride.
Chuck leaves behind his wife of 56 years, his children, grandchildren, great grandson, his sister Diane (Mike) VanHoogstraat, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, brothers in law, cousins and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider making a donation in Chuck's name to Avalon Memory Care in St. Louis, Missouri.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
His footsteps can never be filled, nor his love forgotten.
