Charles Edward Pinkston Jr.'s Obituary
The family of Charles Edward Pinkston Jr., affectionately known as “Pinky” or “Chuck,” is deeply saddened to announce his passing on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 3:15 am at the age of 78, following a long and courageous battle with esophageal cancer.
Chuck is survived by his life partner, Suzanne Gibson. He leaves behind their children: Charles Edward Pinkston III (wife Kelli) and Amy Gibson, as well as his daughter Tanya Whiteaker from a prior marriage to the late Diane Evers.
He was a devoted and loving grandfather—known lovingly as “Papa”—to ten grandchildren: Antonio, Jace, Kash, Madison, Abigail, Aiden, Ellie, Austin, Aaron, and Ashton, and a cherished great-grandfather to three great-granddaughters: Evelyn, Lily, and Lola.
Chuck is also survived by his sister, Nancy Sabatino (husband Robert). He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Merlenbach and Jacqueline “Boomy” Rhodes, as well as his late newborn brother, William Pinkston.
He was the beloved son of the late Mary Jacqueline Pinkston (née Ryan) and late Charles Edward Pinkston Sr.
A dear Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Pinkston donated his body to Logan Chiropractic College prior to cremation. He asked that his life be celebrated in each person’s own way. A favorite quote he wished to leave with his loved ones was: “Enjoy fast engines and beautiful women.”
Chuck will forever be loved and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
