Ruth Fishkin
Caroline's younger daughter Margot was my best friend, from when we were teenagers until her death in 1996. As my friend's mother, Caroline was a well-grounded, kind and reassuring presence in my world. At the same time, she confirmed to me that a person's art can always be part of the world they make around them. I clearly remember her paintings on the walls and the colours in her house fifty years ago. And the corgis!
She will always be a good memory for me.
