Betty Gunkel's Obituary
Betty Gunkel (nee DeBasio) passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, Missouri at the age of 86 years, 7 months, and 17 days.
Betty was born on September 11, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Charles and Mary DeBasio.
Betty is survived by her children: John Meyer, Jayne Harman, and Robert (Rachel) Meyer; grandchildren: Maria (Eric) Tutskey and Tyler Harman; great-grandchildren: Lily Tutskey, Edith Tutskey, and Francis Tutskey.
She was also a beloved aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
For Betty, family came first. She loved spending time with family and friends. She also loved to travel on vacations and take trips to the Casino.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2024 from 2:00 p.m, - 5:00 p.m. at American Legion Post 253, 849 American Legion Post Drive, Festus, Missouri 63028.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Legion Post 253 or Stray Rescue of St. Louis.
